Occupy Lawrence expresses our GRATITUDE!

Many thanks to the Cosmic Beauty School for the tour and conversation starter on Permaculture!

We are also grateful for solidarity with local Lawrence organization Lawrence Coalition for Peace and Justice!

Stand in Solidarity outside of the Municipal Court – 1006 New Hampshire
The 10 campers that were ticketed will be in the court at 10AM.

Thursday, November 17
9th & New Hampshire development plans Meeting – 6pm-8pm
Lawrence Arts Center
This the meeting that will be held to discuss the future plans of the empty field next to the Lawrence Arts Center (across from the current apartment building project) at 9th & New Hampshire.

Saturday, November 19 – Sunday, November 20.
School of the Americas Watch Vigil – SoAw.org
10th & Mass St (In front of Army Service Center)
If you feel moved to contribute your voice, actions, talents to this event, please meet at 4:30pm Thursday, November 17th in South Park for SOAW Strategy Session.
We will Occupy the Radio, Tuesday, November 15th at 11PM on KJHK 90.7FM. Tune in to hear more on SOA and the Vigil.

Newly formed groups
O.D.D. – Occupation Delegation to end Domination
This group has formed to coordinate efforts to travel to Fort Benning, Georgia for the vigil at the gates of “School of America”.
We will be leaving Thursday, November 17th between 4pm – 5pm.

F.L.E.E.T. – Facilitation and Logistics Essential Energy Transport
This group is to facilitate the partnership between Occupy Wichita and the OccuBus. If you are drawn to Green Solutions, Transportation Alternatives, Energy Conservation, get involved!

4:30pm Occupy Lawrence March to the Haskell Veteran’s Powwow

*Occupy Lawrence encourages you to patronize Veteran Day events around the city, we will be.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion will host a combined Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m. Friday at the VFW Post No. 852 building, 138 Ala. The event will feature an opening prayer, a speaker from the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth and a rifle salute to veterans, said Ed Mount, commander of American Legion Post 14.

• 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Ask a Vet — Wescoe Beach, KU campus

• 3 p.m., Walking tour of KU war memorials, featuring presentations from family members of KU veterans who died in service to the country. Tour begins at the Campanile.

• 4:15 p.m., Army ROTC retreat ceremony, Strong Hall.

• 4:30 p.m., U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Victor Braden speaks, 130 Budig Hall. Braden is the assistant division commander of the 35th Infantry Division headquartered at Fort Leavenworth.

• 7 p.m., Air Force ROTC memorial vigil at the campus war memorials.

• The Haskell Indian Nations University Color Guard will host a Veterans Day Traditional Powwow at Haskell’s Coffin Sports Complex from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday. Gourd Session will be from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. with a special Veterans Honoring at 5:30 p.m. with the playing of taps, a special Honor Song and a 21-gun salute. The Grand Entry will begin at 6 p.m.
